Tired of being at the mercy of others for subdistribution and marketing of your film? Fed up with the "race to the bottom" forced on you by destination sites selling your product for bupkis* straight outta the box (office)? Then register here for IndiePlaya — the revolutionary online film subdistribution and marketing platform that empowers independent filmmakers and subdistributors with DIY marketing tools and business intelligence to optimize the packaging, guerilla marketing and subdistribution of your film to highly targeted audiences.

Powered by IndiePlaya's patented and patent-pending technologies, you now have the ability to turbo-charge your website with marketing tools and metrics that will enable you to sell further down your film's long tail than ever before possible with direct-to-consumer sales and rentals. There's no up-front cost (it's pay-as-you-go, meaning we charge a small per transaction fee) and no term contract to sign (you can terminate anytime, all we ask is that you fulfill any prior licenses of your content).

What's the catch, you ask? LOL (this is our favorite part)… there is none — which means you've got nothing to lose and LOT$ of potential revenues to gain. So what r u waiting 4, playa? Isn't it time you stepped up your game and started using the most powerful solution for DIY film subdistribution and marketing on the planet?

*bupkis. n. 1. Something worthless or of little value. 2. What most indie filmmakers get for their films.

IndiePlaya and its proprietary business model were first conceived of by veteran entertainment attorney, Jeffrey Brandstetter. After more than two decades of frustration representing indie filmmakers, musicians and other independent artists, and experiencing first-hand the extraordinary difficulties of getting a subdistribution deal (and for those "lucky" enough to get one, negotiating a fair deal in a game where the house almost always wins), Brandstetter had finally had enough. But unlike countless others before him who simply threw up their hands and reconciled themselves to the studios' mass-market, "tentpole" model, Brandstetter decided to do something about it — which is how IndiePlaya was born.

But IndiePlaya isn't for everybody. If you're the kind of person who'd rather delude themselves into thinking that anyone else might possibly care more about your film's success than you, then you'll likely continue doing business the way hundreds of thousands before you have — by turning your content over to some fast-talking subdistributor or sales agent who promises you the moon (and we all know how that story ends). But if you're a part of the growing number of filmmakers and subdistributors who are fed up with what is clearly an outdated and broken model and are willing to take charge of your film's destiny, then you're a playa — an indie playa — and this platform, and all that it has to offer, is for you!

When filmmakers or subdistributors allow third party destination sites to set the pricing of their film, they lose control over their ability to recoup their investment (and that of any investors). Destination sites typically work off of a subscription and/or ad-based model, which requires them to drive as many "eyeballs" to their site as possible. They are not concerned with the success of your particular film. Rather, their primary, if not sole, concerns are site traffic (which directly affects their CPM rates — the rates they can charge advertisers for ads on their site) and total conversions (video sales and rentals). Consequently, they will price your film at the lowest possible price as soon as they get it as part of an overall strategy to drive more traffic to their site (the logic being more cheap content = more unique visitors).

By distributing your film on such destination sites too early in your film's life cycle, you've not only lost control over your film's pricing, you've also engaged in what we call a "race to the bottom" because now anyone can purchase your film for whatever absurdly low price others have set for your film (meaning you can no longer sell it for a higher price since it's readily available elsewhere for a cheaper price). Every indie film has a relatively small target demographic, especially when compared with studio films, and you can't afford to be cannibalizing that core audience by making your film available on destination sites that price your film at rock bottom prices straight out of the box (office), or insist on too high a fee for themselves, or which offer so many other titles that you really are just a minnow in an ocean of content.

So how do you avoid this "race to the bottom"? By taking charge of your film's destiny from the get-go, which means retaining control over not just pricing, but ALL offering terms. And that's precisely what IndiePlaya does best — it gives you the control you need to maximize your chances for success in an industry known for its colossal failures. So what r u waiting 4, playa? Isn't it time you stepped up your game and started using the most powerful solution for DIY film subdistribution and marketing on the planet?
